The invention relates to a method for inspecting paint defects of a vehicle, said method enabling the determination of 3D coordinates of paint defects of a vehicle (7) by means of an inspection tunnel. The inspection tunnel (1) comprises several cameras (2), a conveyor (8), a position encoder (9) measuring the movement of the vehicle (7); the total station (11), the calibration checkerboard (3) and the calibration pattern (4) are used for measuring and inspecting fixed points of the tunnel structure (12); processing and storage means (10) for storing the images acquired by the camera, computer-aided design files of the vehicle and defect recognition algorithms.
