Systems and methods for monitoring traffic lane congestion are provided. In one embodiment, a system for monitoring traffic lane congestion may include at least one processor. The processor may be programmed to receive, from an image capture device of a host vehicle, at least one image representing an environment of the host vehicle. The processor may be programmed to analyze the at least one image to identify a traffic lane in an environment of the host vehicle and to analyze the at least one image to determine a traffic congestion condition of the traffic lane. The processor may also be programmed to transmit traffic information indicative of a traffic congestion condition.
