The power supply control unit (56) sets, as a first time interval (x seconds), a driving interval at which the sensor (32) is driven by intermittently supplying power to the sensor (32) when a change in any of a sinusoidal signal and a cosine signal is not detected. When a change in only one of the sinusoidal signal and the cosine signal is detected, the time interval is set to a second time interval ((x-2. 2) seconds) that is shorter than the first time interval. When a change in either the sinusoidal signal or the cosine signal is detected and then a change in the other signal is detected, the time interval is set to a third time interval ((x-4. 4) seconds) that is shorter than the second time interval.
