The present disclosure relates to a vehicle seat including a seat cushion that is substantially horizontal relative to a floor of a vehicle. The vehicle seat also includes a seatback including a proximal end and a distal end separated by a longitudinal length such that the proximal end is pivotally coupled to the seatback. The vehicle seat also includes a rail disposed adjacent the seat cushion, and the rail has a longitudinal length. The rail includes a proximal end and a distal end such that the proximal end of the rail is attached to a biasing element and the distal end of the rail is attached to a portion of the seatback. In a collision event, the seatback is displaceable relative to the seat cushion along the longitudinal length of the track.
