The present disclosure provides vehicle recharging of home energy storage devices. A system for managing energy of a building includes a controller, the controller is in communication with the charger and is configured to, in response to predicting (i) an upcoming power failure for an expected duration and (ii) a total energy reserve of a battery and an electrical energy storage device of the vehicle is less than an expected energy magnitude to be used by the building during the expected duration, determine a power failure of the building, the vehicle is instructed to recharge the battery at a target charging station and return before stored energy of the energy storage device falls below a predefined value, and in response to encountering the power outage, the charger is instructed to supply electrical energy to the building from the battery and electrical energy storage device.
