A method (100) of automatically optimizing a predictive dynamic curve light function of a vehicle lighting system includes configuring (103) a curve light control unit controlling the lighting system to use an initial curve light control parameter value as a control parameter value to be used, a classification unit is configured (104) to automatically classify the performance of the curve lamp control unit into a desired performance category and at least one further performance category according to an output value of the control unit, a control parameter optimization unit is configured (105) to determine an updated control parameter value according to an input value of the control unit and a performance category assigned to the input value, and acquiring (106) a travel trajectory parameter value as an input value during the journey, determining (107) an output value of the control unit, automatically classifying (108) the performance as a function of the determined output value, determining (109) an updated control parameter value and adjusting (110) the control parameter value to be used to the updated control parameter value, wherein determining (109) the updated control parameter value comprises applying (113) a genetic algorithm by which the frequency of classifying the performance as a desired performance category is increased.
