The disclosure provides "chassis input intent prediction". A sensor fusion method for obtaining a higher resolution perspective of chassis input control using a brain-computer interface (BMI) is described in accordance with the present disclosure. Conventional chassis control inputs, such as steering wheel, brake, and driver condition monitoring sensors, may compute inputs, but typically cannot well predict intent. By interpreting the known motor command signal, how much chassis input the driver intends to provide can be known clearly. The BMI may monitor the motor cortex to identify when muscle movement is impending, such as moving an arm to grasp a steering wheel. This combination will achieve faster and more accurate intent calculations. In addition, information from the driver wearable device may be used for supplemental determination. This allows faster response and better integration with the driver.
