The invention discloses a bidirectional charging and discharging type portable battery replacing method and system. The method comprises the steps that an electric vehicle obtains the electric quantity of an electric vehicle battery and the electric quantity of a portable battery through a controller or a battery management system; and the portable battery charges the electric vehicle battery or the electric vehicle battery charges the portable battery according to the electric quantity of the electric vehicle battery and the electric quantity of the portable battery. Through the bidirectional DC/DC converter, the portable battery can supplement electricity to the electric vehicle battery, operation feedback energy of the electric vehicle can be stored to the portable battery in reverse, and energy consumption is avoided. Meanwhile, the portable battery can be charged while the battery of the electric vehicle is charged in the charging process, so that the utilization rate of the portable battery is further improved.
