The invention belongs to the field of engineering machinery, and discloses a winch type hoisting mechanism and a crane. The winch type hoisting mechanism comprises a power motor (1), a gear ratio speed reducer (2) and a winding drum component which are in transmission connection in sequence, wherein the power motor (1) comprises a motor rotating shaft (11), the gear ratio speed reducer (2) comprises a speed reducer output shaft (21), and the reduction ratio of the gear ratio speed reducer (2) is adjustable, so that the speed reducer output shaft (21) can rotate at an adjustable rotating speed lower than the rotating speed of the motor rotating shaft (11). Therefore, the winch of the winch type hoisting mechanism can be increased to the maximum speed, the power motor is prevented from generating larger rotational inertia, the fluctuation phenomenon of the hoisting speed is thoroughly eliminated, the controllability of the mechanism is improved, and the working efficiency of the mechanism is improved.
