The invention relates to a method for controlling a power battery system (100) for a hybrid vehicle, in particular a plug-in hybrid vehicle. Thepower battery system hasat least two battery subsystems (11, 12). The control method comprises at least the following steps: detecting a driving speed and a driving mode of the hybrid vehicle; adjusting the series-parallel connection state between the at least two battery subsystems (11, 12) as a function of the travel speed and the travel mode. The invention also relates to a corresponding computer program product and a corresponding power battery system. The polarization effect of the single cell can be weakened, and the heat increase of the single cell can be reduced.
