The invention relates to a gear reverser for a bicycle or an electric moped. The gear reverser is provided with a long output transmission shaft and a short output transmission shaft, and four bevel gears with mutual teeth are arranged in the gear reverser, so that the rotating speeds of the long shaft and the short shaft are always the same and the rotating directions are always opposite when the long shaft and the short shaft are in transmission; the gear reverser is installed on one side of a bicycle driving wheel hub, the long shaft penetrates to the other side through the hub, the long shaft and the short shaft are distributed on the two sides of the hub, and therefore various applications such as chainless direct driving and rope driving of a bicycle are achieved.
