The invention describes a wind turbine component transport arrangement (1) comprising a plurality of rotor blade support frames (1R); a plurality of nacelle support frames (IN); and a plurality of tower section support frames (IT), wherein the dimensions of a support frame (1R, 1T, 1N) correspond to the dimensions (CL, SCH, SCL) of a stack (SC) of standard containers (C). The invention further describes a method of transporting the wind turbine components (51, 52, 53) on a containership (3) by using such wind turbine component transport arrangement (1).
