The invention relates to a cartridge receiver containment test device and a design method thereof. The design method comprises the following steps: S1, carrying out a containment test on a cartridge receiver with a stator blade, and carrying out kinetic analysis to obtain the deformation of a key point of the cartridge receiver when the rotor blade flies out and penetrates through the cartridge receiver and the initial flying speed and flying angle of the rotor blade; S2, designing an initial model of the reinforcing ring according to a stiffness approaching principle; S3, replacing a stator blade with the initial model of the reinforcing ring, and carrying out a containment test and kinetic analysis on the cartridge receiver; and S4, comparing the kinetic analysis results of the steps S1 and S3, if the difference between the two results exceeds 5%, correcting the size of the reinforcing ring, and executing the step S3. The invention provides a cartridge receiver containment test device and a design method thereof, which can ensure the accuracy of the test while reducing the cost of the containment test, and provide support for cartridge receiver containment design and airworthiness evidence obtaining work.
