The invention relates to a travelling hoisting robot for rod supplementing of a double-layer bolt-sphere net rack and a hoisting method of the travelling hoisting robot, and belongs to the field of hoisting equipment. The travelling hoisting robot comprises a low-position track, a high-position track, a crane chassis, a mechanical arm and a driving and control mechanism, wherein the low-position track and the high-position track are connected to a net rack support on the double-layer bolt-sphere net rack, the high-position track is arranged on one side of the low-position track in parallel, the bottom elevation of the high-position track is higher than that of the low-position track, the top of the high-position track is flush with the top of the low-position track, the crane chassis is slidably connected between the top of the high-position track and the top of the low-position track, the mechanical arm is connected to the top of the crane chassis, and the driving and control mechanism is used for driving and controlling the crane chassis and the mechanical arm to move. According to the travelling hoisting robot for the rod supplementing of the double-layer bolt-sphere net rack and the hoisting method of the travelling hoisting robot, the stability and safety of a crane in the hoisting operation process can be guaranteed, after the overall lifting of the on-site net rack is completed, the follow-up installation of an upper structural member of the net rack can be normally carried out, the smooth installation of a small structure is ensured, and a large amount of hoisting cost is further saved.
