The invention discloses a rail traffic detection device, and relates to the field of rail detection. The rail traffic detection device comprises a trolley and a rail fixedly connected to the ground. The lower end of the trolley is provided with a sliding groove, the sliding groove is internally provided with a fixing rod fixedly connected with the sliding groove, and the fixing rod is sleeved with a first spring. Two moving mechanisms are slidably connected to the outer portion of the fixing rod, and side rollers of the two moving mechanisms are in rolling connection with the middle of the rail. Two measuring mechanisms are symmetrically arranged at the bottom of the trolley. The moving mechanisms and the measuring mechanisms are used in cooperation, so that the rail gauge is measured. Communicating pipes are arranged on the side walls of the moving mechanisms in a penetrating mode. A positioning mechanism is fixedly connected to the bottom of the trolley. Through cooperative use of the moving mechanisms and the positioning mechanism, when the threshold of the measuring mechanisms is exceeded, the moving mechanisms can be locked.
