The base value is a final value or an average value of the co-state variable p during the last control time period. The external charge/discharge correction value is determined based on an external charge/discharge amount obtained by subtracting a SOC at the end of the last control time period from the SOC at the start of the current control time period. As a result, it is possible to determine an optimal control input value that minimizes fuel consumption without predicting a future vehicle speed and vehicle drive torque, and to appropriately determine a control input value even when charging or discharging with an external device is performed during a control stop period.
