The invention provides a box transformer type charging station which comprises a shell, and a high-voltage unit, a transformer unit, a low-voltage unit and a charging unit which are arranged in the shell, the high-voltage unit is used for leading a mains supply line into the transformer unit; the transformer unit is used for reducing the voltage of commercial power to a preset voltage value and then introducing the commercial power to the low-voltage unit; the low-voltage unit is connected to the power circuit with the preset voltage value and is used for providing power input with the preset voltage value for the charging unit; the charging unit comprises a plurality of charging piles and is used for charging a to-be-charged device by using the power supply with the preset voltage value; a rain shelter is arranged at the position, corresponding to the charging unit, of the top of the shell. The transformer, the high-low voltage switch cabinet and the alternating current and direct current charging pile are integrated, the on-site installation and continuous adjustment time is saved, a special foundation does not need to be built, the construction cost is saved, and meanwhile the user experience is improved by arranging the rain shelter.
