The invention discloses a propulsion working medium supply method and system based on air suction type electric propulsion. The method comprises the following steps:the storage amount of a propulsion working medium in a propulsion working medium storage tank is obtained in the space flight process of an aircraft; the propelling working medium is gas captured by an air-breathing type electric propeller in a flight environment; and an aircraft is controlled to enter a second track from a first track after determining that the storage amount reaches the target storage amount. According to the propelling working medium supply method based on air-breathing type electric propulsion, the aircraft carrying the air-breathing type electric propulsion can efficiently capture environment gas on the low orbit with high atmospheric density, the aircraft can store redundant gas except for the gas needed for maintaining the aircraft on the low orbit, And the gas can be used for maintenance and maneuvering orbital transfer of high orbits. And the application range of the air suction electric propeller can be wider.
