The energy recovery method comprises the following steps that whole automobile parameters are obtained; according to the whole vehicle parameters, a front and rear axle braking force distribution curve is determined, and the front and rear axle braking force distribution curve comprises a first curve, a second curve and a third curve which are connected in sequence; the brake pedal opening degree, the battery charge state, the battery power limiting value and the motor torque limiting value of the new energy automobile are obtained; front axle braking force and rear axle braking force are determined according to the opening degree of the brake pedal and the front and rear axle braking force distribution curve; and motor feedback torque is generated according to the front axle driving force, the battery charge state, the battery power limit value and the motor torque limit value, and energy recovery is conducted according to the motor feedback torque. The method can accurately and reasonably distribute the braking force of the front axle and the rear axle, recover the braking energy to the maximum extent on the premise of ensuring the braking safety of the automobile, and contribute to improving the energy recovery utilization rate.
