The invention relates to the technical field of elevators, in particular to a limiting mechanism for a compensation rope tensioning wheel of an elevator. The limiting mechanism comprises a bottom plate and a tensioning frame, wherein a cushioning supporting component is arranged in the middle of the base face of a supporting plate in the length direction; limiting rods corresponding to supporting rods are arranged at the bottom of the supporting plate; a first tensioning wheel is arranged in the left side of the tensioning frame; a second tensioning wheel is arranged in the right side of the tensioning frame; a first limiting frame is arranged at the left end of the tensioning frame; a second limiting frame is arranged at the right end of the tensioning frame; and limiting sleeve bases are symmetrically arranged at the left side and the right side of the tensioning frame front and back. According to the limiting mechanism, the stress displacement stability of the tensioning frame can be high through the limiting rods and the limiting sleeve bases; the displacement direction can be guided, the tensioning frame can be effectively prevented from being stressed and deviated, and the overall operation and use stability is improved; and the tensioning frame can be subjected to cushioning supporting through a cushioning supporting component, the stability of the tensioning frame in the stress process is high, and the overall use stability is improved.
