The present invention is directed to compounds represented by the formula (i), wherein R1 comprises a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 2 carbon atoms; R2 comprises an alkylene group, an arylene group, or a heterocyclic group; and M comprises a monovalent metallic cation such as sodium, lithium, or potassium; or a multivalent metallic cation such as zinc, nickel, iron, titanium, or cobalt; or an ammonium or alkyl ammonium cation derived by addition of proton (s) to a nitrogenous base.
