The invention relates to an optical system, a camera module, electronic equipment and an automobile. The optical system includes: a first lens having negative refractive power; a second lens element with positive refractive power; a third lens element with positive refractive power and having an image-side surface being convex near the optical axis; a fourth lens element with refractive power and having a convex object-side surface near the optical axis; a fifth lens element with refractive power; and a sixth lens element with refractive power; the optical system satisfies the following relation: FOV/EPD is larger than 19.4 deg/mm and smaller than 24.3 deg/mm; wherein the FOV is the maximum field angle of the optical system, and the EPD is the entrance pupil diameter of the optical system. The optical system can obtain an image with a large visual field range, meanwhile, can obtain information of a large depth in the image and have a clear recognition capability for both a long shot and a close shot, and in addition, can obtain a high-definition image through sufficient brightness brought by the characteristic of a large aperture.
