The invention discloses a damping mechanism suitable for a scooter, and the scooter. The lower end of the first transmission piece is connected with the back end of the rocker arm part. The upper end of the first transmission piece is connected with the front end of the second transmission piece, the middle of the second transmission piece is connected with the connecting part through the second shaft connection point, the rear end of the second transmission piece is connected with the rear end of the compression spring shock absorber, and the front end of the compression spring shock absorber is connected with the connecting part. The damping mechanism is advantageous in that the damping mechanism with a novel structure is provided.
