The invention relates to the technical field of parking charging, and discloses an efficient unattended roadside parking charging system and a working method thereof. The system comprises a vehicle detection device, a roadside charging pile and a payment transaction server. The vehicle detection device is used for being arranged on a target parking space, and the roadside charging pile comprises an electronic toll collection roadside unit (ETC-RSU) module, an image acquisition module and a real-time clock (RTC) module. The vehicle detection device arranged on the target parking space can be used for automatically detecting whether a vehicle is driven into or out of the parking space, the roadside charging pile is wirelessly triggered according to a detection result to take pictures and obtain evidences, and periodic ETC real-time fee deduction is performed in an energy-saving manner, so that the problems existing in a attended mode can be avoided, vehicle owners can be prevented from escaping orders, and the toll collection efficiency is improved. Meanwhile, the sub-devices of the system are connected in a wireless communication manner, so that arrangement can be facilitated, the arrangement cost can be reduced, and electronic toll collection system upgrading of an existing parking lot is facilitated.
