The method specifically comprises the steps that firstly, building a two-degree-of-freedom vehicle model for a four-wheel independent drive electric vehicle according to kinematic characteristics of the four-wheel independent drive electric vehicle, and then deigning optimization indexes corresponding to three properties and optimization indexes of a driving intention for different optimization purposes of control stability, riding comfort and economy; determining a decision variable; and finally, designing a constraint function to acquire a multi-objective optimization model, adopting an improved genetic algorithm to solve a multi-objective optimization problem, feeding back a final result to the four-wheel independent drive electric vehicle, and carrying out real-time control optimization. According to the invention, the comprehensive optimization control of the operation stability, riding comfort and economy of the four-wheel independent drive electric vehicle can be simultaneously satisfied.
