The invention relates to a method for determining the trafficability of a travel path (6). The method comprises emitting ultrasonic pulses by using a plurality of ultrasonic sensors (2) and receiving echoes from reflecting objects in the surroundings of a vehicle (1) and determining a probability P of the trafficability of a narrow area. According to the invention, the permissibility probability P of the stenosis E is determined by taking into account at least two criteria tp selected from the group consisting of an amplitude gradient, a number gradient of the received echoes, the position of the aggregation point, a curve of the ascertained distance and the identified characterization object. A further aspect of the invention relates to a driver assistance system (100), which is provided for carrying out the method, and to a vehicle (1) which comprises such a driver assistance system (100).
