The invention relates to a lifting electromagnet only sucking a single steel plate. At least one hollow inner magnetic pole is longitudinally arranged in the electromagnet, outer magnetic poles are arranged on the two sides of the electromagnet, and a coil is arranged in the electromagnet and connected with a junction box on the upper portion of the electromagnet. The lifting electromagnet can suck and lift one steel plate very accurately, and even if a series of factors such as the thickness of the steel plate, the flatness of the steel plate, the abrasion degree of the electromagnet, the airgap between the electromagnet and the steel plate and whether water is accumulated or not during storage of the steel plate are changed, lifting and conveying of the single steel plate is not affected; and sucking and lifting of the single steel plate is not needed to be achieved by magnetism adjusting through a matched control device, an electric control device always outputs the maximum exciting voltage to the electromagnet, so that the operation of lifting and conveying the steel plate is safer and more reliable.
