The invention discloses a building elevator which structurally comprises a rotary supporting table, a first connecting rod, a sliding lifting hook, a pothook, a guide wheel, a second connecting rod, asteel wire rope, a lifting device and a supporting plate, and the first connecting rod and the second connecting rod are fixedly connected to the rotary supporting table. Compared with the prior art,the building elevator has the beneficial effects that a guide wheel of an existing building elevator is improved, the contact area of the steel wire rope and the guide wheel can be greatly reduced onthe basis that the stability of guide supporting is guaranteed, heat friction can be greatly reduced accordingly, the steel wire rope slides to drive a rotating shaft to slowly rotate, and thereforea circular rings are linked; and based on vertically downward gravity, a gravity block can provide power for displacement of a piston head, intermittent gas discharging is achieved, discharged gas cancool and dissipate heat of the steel wire rope, the abrasion degree of the steel wire rope is further reduced, and therefore the service life of the steel wire rope can be prolonged.
