The lithium ion battery comprises a battery shell body, a positive pole, a negative pole and a test assembly, wherein the positive pole and the negative pole are arranged on the outer side of the battery shell body, andthe battery shell body is used for accommodating electrolyte; and the test assembly comprises a test inner core, an electrolytic protection shell and a connecting conductor, the electrolytic protection shell wraps the outer side of the test inner core, the test inner core and the electrolytic protection shell are both located in the battery shell body and used for making contact with electrolyte in the battery shell body, one end of the connecting conductor is connected with the test inner core and/or the electrolytic protection shell, and the other end penetrates through and extends out of the battery shell body. The lithium ion battery, the third electrode test method thereof, the battery module and the automobile of the invention can improve the accuracy degree of battery evaluation.
