The invention relates to a method for controlling the braking of an aircraft equipped with a landing gear with brake wheels. The aircraft is driven by a jet engine and is equipped with a thrust reversal system. The method comprises the steps of estimating the grip/adhesion of brake wheels on the basis of the estimated grip/adhesion, and activating the reaction thrust system or adjusting the reaction thrust generated by the reaction thrust system (if the system has been activated).
