The invention provides a method and a system for improving the cruising ability of an electric vehicle. An independent battery pack is standardized, and a range extending battery is used as a shared battery of multiple types of new energy vehicles. The battery is a universal supplementary battery for all types of new energy vehicles on the market. Therefore, the scheme has generalization and application prospects. The invention can provide a household charging device. A vehicle owner can conveniently use common household appliances to carry out charging operation in an indoor environment. In addition, a wide network battery replacement station is established, and the service capability of quick replacement is provided. And meanwhile, the range extending battery implements a real-time information digital network transmission service.
