The invention relates to a vehicle battery module (1) comprising: at least one secondary battery cell (4) having a planar extension with at least two flat sides (12) arranged opposite each other; a holding frame (2) in which the or corresponding secondary battery cell (4) is accommodated; and a clamping device (10), which is designed to apply a clamping pressure to the or the respective secondarybattery cell (4) for counteracting a deformation of the or the respective secondary battery cell (4). Here, the clamping device (10) is designed to apply locally different clamping pressure values that differ from zero to at least one of the flat sides (12) of the or the respective secondary battery cell (4).
