The invention relates to a method for operating a recharging infrastructure (10) for an electric vehicle (14, 16), comprising the following steps: obtaining at least one vehicle state variable of an electric vehicle (14, 16), determining or obtaining a possible future recharging request for the electric vehicle, the electric vehicle being located at a distance to the recharging infrastructure (10); determining an expected energy demand that can be met with the recharging infrastructure (10) taking into account at least one vehicle state variable; determining an energy providing potential of the recharging infrastructure (10); if the comparison of the expected energy demand and the energy provision potential satisfies a shortage criterion, introducing at least one countermeasure. The invention also relates to an assembly (1) for recharging an electric vehicle (14, 16).
