The invention relates to a ship shafting hydraulic locking system and a control method. The system comprises a hydraulic unit, a hydraulic locking device arranged on one side of a shafting, a ship automatic control system, a wheelhouse console, a cabin central control room console, and a ship power device. The wheelhouse console and the cabin central control room console can input instructions inthe ship automatic control system, and the ship automatic control system receives signals of the ship power device and outputs instructions to the hydraulic unit. By means of the shafting locking device, quick locking of the shafting can be achieved, the shafting can be braked even under the condition that the shafting still rotates quickly, and compared with a traditional braking method, manual field operation is avoided, remote control can be achieved, and braking does not need to be performed after the shafting stops rotating.
