The invention discloses a charging method based on the Internet of Things. The charging method comprises the steps: acquiring the current electric quantity and position of an AGV robot; acquiring thedistribution of charging piles and the state of each charging pile; selecting an optimal solution according to the electric quantity of the AGV robot and the distance between the AGV robot and each charging pile; determining charging; recording the charging electric quantity; and updating the state of the charging pile. The step of obtaining the current electric quantity and position of the AGV robot comprises the sub-steps of obtaining a latest map constructed by the AGV robot; determining the current position of the AGV robot; checking the remaining electric quantity of the AGV robot; obtaining a distribution diagram of the charging pile; obtaining the use state of each charging pile; obtaining the position state of each charging pile; selecting an optimal solution according to the electric quantity of the AGV robot and the distance between the AGV robot and each charging pile; estimating a driving distance according to the electric quantity of the AGV robot; determining all chargingpiles within the distance range; and checking all charging states in the range, and searching for available charging piles.
