The invention relates to the technical field of shipping traffic, in particular to a shipping traffic flow prediction system based on an information propagation graph and a recurrent neural network, which comprises a controller, an AIS data module and a prediction module, the AIS data module is used for acquiring current real-time channel flow data and historical channel flow data and feeding backthe current real-time channel flow data and the historical channel flow data to the controller; wherein the prediction module comprises a navigation channel network diagram and a prediction unit, thenavigation channel network diagram is a directed graph composed of detection points with correlation in the shipping network so as to determine the driving direction and the driving distance betweenthe detection points, and the prediction unit comprises a spatial correlation prediction unit and a temporal correlation prediction unit. The spatial correlation prediction unit and the temporal correlation prediction unit are both connected with the controller so as to perform comprehensive prediction on future channel flow information, provide a basis for management and control of waterway shipping and improve waterway shipping efficiency.
