The invention discloses a mounting structure and method of a ship axle hung type motor. An axle hung type motor (3) is arranged on a ship transmission shaft (2) with a propeller (1); and the mountingstructure is characterized in that the bottom of the axle hung type motor (3) is connected with a ship body base (11) through a rubber vibration isolator (10). The axle hung type motor is rigidly connected with a transmission shaft through an expansion sleeve type coupler; the axle hung type motor is flexibly connected with the ship body motor base through the rubber vibration isolator, and the axle hung type motor is installed on a ship in a rigid-flexible mode, so that the problem that the motor transmits power is solved, and the problem of radial runout in shafting work is effectively relieved or absorbed.
