The invention discloses a chassis of an aerial work platform and the aerial work platform. The chassis of the aerial work platform comprises an axle, a frame and an axle balance system, the axle is indriving connection with a walking motor, the frame is located above the axle, the axle balance system comprises a balance oil cylinder connected between the axle and the frame and an electromagneticvalve set connected between an oil supplementing oil way and the balance oil cylinder, and when the aerial work platform is in a walking state, the electromagnetic valve set is powered on and enablesa rod cavity and a rodless cavity of the balance oil cylinder to be communicated. When the aerial work platform is in an operation state, the electromagnetic valve set is powered off, and the rod cavity and the rodless cavity of the balance oil cylinder are locked. When the aerial work platform is in a walking state, the electromagnetic valve set is powered on so that the two oil cavities of the balance oil cylinder can be communicated, the axle can be in a floating state, the hydraulic pump does not need to be started at the moment, energy consumption can be reduced, and then the endurance ofthe electric drive self-walking aerial work platform is improved.
