The invention discloses a method for calibrating a camera, and the method comprises the steps: obtaining a plurality of images photographed by the camera, and the images comprise the image of a targetobject; receiving geographic position information of the target object at a first moment; selecting an image shot at a first moment from the plurality of images, and extracting image position information of the target object in the image from the selected image; and calibrating the camera according to the extracted image position information and the received geographical position information, soas to determine the geographical position information of each object in the shooting range of the camera according to the image shot by the camera based on the calibration result. The invention also discloses roadside sensing equipment and a calibration system adopting the calibration method.
