The energy storage-release device comprises a battery, a batterymanagement unit, a supercapacitor, a supercapacitor control unit, a motor/generator, a motor/generator control drive, a pump/motor-hydraulic system and a pump/motor control unit. According to the brake energy recovery mechanism of the innovation, when the automobile brakes or goes downhill, under the control of the vehicle control unit, the mechanical connector converts kinetic energy or potentialenergy into mechanical energy, one part of the mechanical energy is converted into hydraulic energy through the pump/motor-hydraulic system to be stored, and the other part of the mechanical energy is converted into electric energy through the motor/generator to be stored in the battery and a supercapacitor. The mechanism can effectively store brake energy of the automobile and can be used when the automobile runs, and achieves energy conservation and environmental protection.
