The invention discloses an intelligent control system for avoiding pedestrians. The intelligent control system comprises a camera, an image processing system, a radar, a sensing fusion system, a vehicle control unit, a light control system, a brake system and a steering system. The vehicle recognizes that a pedestrian target exists on a pedestrian crosswalk, if a moving speed is normal, the vehicle creeps out of the pedestrian crosswalk to wait for all pedestrians to pass through, and if the moving speed is lower than the normal moving speed, light supplementing and other enhanced recognitionare performed; and when the pedestrians cannot be ruled out, the vehicle is controlled to stop outside the pedestrian crosswalk, and pedestrian safety is greatly improved.
