The invention relates to the technical field of vehicle power generation, in particular to a vehicle power generation system and a power generation control method. The vehicle power generation systemcomprises a generator. A rotor of the generator is connected with a transmission main shaft of a vehicle, and the transmission main shaft is used for being connected with a power device and an axle ofthe vehicle. The vehicle power generation system provided by the invention is not limited by the power of the transmission power take-off port and the power take-off device, and can meet the requirements of a high-power generator.
