Provided is an elastomer reinforcement cord that: takes advantage of the characteristics of a composite cord that uses steel filaments and a resin filament; and has an actual post-vulcanization cord diameter that is substantially the same as the geometrically calculated value for the diameter of a cord that is only steel filaments without any resin as calculated from the wire diameter of the steelfilaments used. An elastomer reinforcement cord 10 that comprises metal filaments 2, 3 and a resin filament 1 that have been intertwined and has a core and at least one sheath layer, wherein the space between the metal filaments is filled with a resin. The cord diameter is 98%-100.5% of the geometrically calculated value for the diameter of a cord that comprises only metal filaments, and the total length of the spaces between the metal filaments in an outermost sheath layer pre-vulcanization is no more than 85% of the geometrically calculated value. In a cross-section that is orthogonal to the axial direction of the cord, of the area determined by the metal filaments that form the outermost sheath layer, the ratio of the area occupied by a polymer material to the area not occupied by metal filaments is 52%-120%.
