The invention provides a smart city system. The system comprises a traffic light, a street lamp, a control module and a prediction module; the traffic light is provided with a light conversion controller for receiving a control signal to control the light conversion of the traffic light; the traffic light is also provided with a countdown module; the countdown module is used for displaying countdown time before the light of the traffic light is changed; the street lamp is arranged along a road where the traffic light is located and comprises a lighting unit and a vehicle detection unit, wherein the vehicle detection unit is used for detecting the number of vehicles at a traffic light intersection; the control module is used for sending a control signal to the light conversion controller according to the number of the vehicles; and the prediction module is used for calculating light conversion time according to the number of the vehicles and sending the light conversion time to the control module. According to the smart city system, congestion at the traffic light can be reduced.
