An application method of the photovoltaic cleaning robot comprises operating steps as follows: an enabled instruction is sent to a processor, and the processor sends the instruction to turn on a diesel engine and a sensor; the sensor is started to scanning the front of the robot; the diesel engine is started to drive the walking mechanisms to rotate; an obstacle is scanned by a scanner, and whether bypassing is needed is judged by the processor; the processor sends information to the walking mechanisms to perform bypassing; the robot is transported to a designated position through the walking mechanisms; photovoltaic inclined angle and area provided by the background are transmitted into the processor and processed by the processor, and then the instruction is sent to the adjusting mechanism and the cleaning mechanism; and the angle of the cleaning mechanism is adjusted by theadjusting mechanism, and photovoltaic cleaning is performed by the cleaning mechanism.
