The invention provides an automatic braking method. According to the method, a speed detector detects the current speed of an automobile; an infrared distance sensor detects the current distance between the automobile and an obstacle in front of the automobile, the shortest braking distance is calculated according to the detected current speed and distance; the shortest braking distance, a presetbuffer distance and an isolation distance are summated, so that the warning distance and braking distance of the automobile can be obtained; when the distance between the automobile and the obstacle in front of the automobile is smaller than or equal to the warning distance of the automobile, a driver is warned; and when the distance between the automobile and the obstacle in front of the automobile is smaller than or equal to the brake distance of the automobile, the brake control system of the automobile automatically brakes the automobile. With the method of the invention adopted, traffic accidents can be effectively avoided.

    本发明提供了一种自动刹车的方法,首先速度检测器检测汽车的当前速度,红外距离感应器探测汽车与其前端障碍物之间的当前距离,然后根据探测到的当前速度和距离,计算出最短制动距离,将最短制动距离加上预设的缓冲距离和隔离距离,分别得到汽车的警告距离和刹车距离;当汽车与其前端障碍物之间的距离小于等于汽车的警告距离时,对驾驶员发出警告;当汽车与其前端障碍物之间的距离小于等于汽车的刹车距离时,则汽车的刹车控制系统自动对汽车进行刹车。本发明能够有效地避免车祸的发生。
