The invention relates to a battery system under-voltage protection circuit and method applied to an electric bicycle BMS. The battery system under-voltage protection circuit comprises a control switchwhich comprises a first switching end, a second switching end and a control end; the control end is used for controlling the first switch end and the second switch end to be connected or disconnected; and a OR logic gate of which the input end is connected with the self-jacking signal end of a battery management system, and the output end is connected with the control end of the control switch; when the battery management system detects that the voltage of the battery reaches an under-voltage protection point, the self-jacking signal end outputs a low level to disconnect the first switch endand the second switch end. According to the battery system under-voltage protection circuit and method, when the battery management system detects that the voltage of the battery of the electric bicycle reaches the under-voltage protection point, the battery management system enables the first switch end and the second switch end to be disconnected, thereby preventing the battery from being seriously fed and damaged because the battery is stored for a long time and the battery management system continuously consumes power.
