The invention belongs to the technical field of avionics, and provides a flight management system waypoint bidirectional sorting method. The method comprises the following steps: 1, determining position information of each waypoint in a flight plan; 2, selecting sorting waypoints; 3, determining forward/reverse sorting, and selecting a sorting waypoint insertion position; and 4, confirming correctness of a flight plan. The method is widely suitable for various civil and military aircrafts.
