The embodiment of the invention provides a truss assembly and a cargo boom, and relates to the field of cargo booms. A problem that the cargo boom with a larger width is assembled by a single component with a larger size and weight and is difficult to install is solved. The truss assembly comprises two reducing joints, a third arm frame and side arm frames, wherein the two reducing joints are arranged at intervals; the number of the side arm frames is two, and the two side arm frames are symmetrically arranged on two sides of the third arm frame; and two ends of the third arm frame and the twoside arm frames are connected with a first arm frame and a second arm frame through the reducing joints. The third arm frame is a conventional arm frame configured by a crawler crane in a standard state, and on the basis of the third arm frame, a user only needs to additionally purchase the reducing joints and the side arm frames to increase a section width of the arm frame, and a loading capacity of the cargo boom can be upgraded without additionally purchasing a whole set of arm frame with the larger width, and cost for upgrading an arm frame capacity of a client is reduced.
