The invention discloses a self-balancing pedal for a bicycle, comprising a bicycle body and a transmission assembly arranged on the bicycle body. The transmission assembly comprises two cranks which are oppositely arranged. One end of each crank is rotationally connected with the bicycle body, and a rotating shaft is arranged at the other end. Pedals are arranged on the rotating shaft in a rotating mode. A maintaining assembly is further arranged on the bicycle body and comprises a fixed pulley assembly fixedly arranged on a tricycle frame and a connecting rope connected between the two pedals, the connecting rope sleeves the fixed pulley assembly, and a triangular structure is formed between the two pedals and the fixed pulley through the connecting rope. The connecting rope is connectedwith two pedals through the fixed pulley. In the riding process, the two ends of the connecting rope do reciprocating motion along with the pedals under the action of the fixed pulley. After a rider gets off the bicycle, the two pedals can bear tension under the action of the connecting rope, so that the pedals rotationally arranged on the rotating shaft are kept in a balanced state. The pedals can be kept in a balanced state after riding, and people with damaged feet, such as old people, can ride the bicycle again conveniently.
